Embracing the Mabon Season: Listening as an Act of Love

Embracing the Mabon Season: Listening as an Act of Love

As the seasons gracefully shift and we find ourselves on the cusp of Mabon, I wanted to share some reflections that have been on my heart, centered around the profound concept of listening as an act of love.

"When we approach with reverence, great things decide to approach us. Our real life comes to the surface and its light awakens the concealed beauty in things. When we walk on the earth with reverence, beauty will decide to trust us. The rushed heart and arrogant mind lack the gentleness and patience to enter that embrace." - John O'Donohue

In these words, John O'Donohue reminds us of the transformative power of reverence. When we approach life and the world around us with genuine reverence, we invite greatness to reveal itself. It's as if our very presence calls forth the beauty hidden beneath the surface, and this beauty trusts us to cherish and protect it. Yet, in our hurried and busy lives, we often miss the opportunity to truly embrace and appreciate the world's beauty.

The Crone phase embodies a profound wisdom that arises from the depths, a wisdom forged within the crucible of beauty, tempered by the ever-changing dance of impermanence. In this sacred junction, our focus gracefully shifts from the outer world to the inner sanctum, where our inner senses awaken with heightened clarity. The Crone's voice resonates with the collective, and authentic dialogue, whether it unfolds in the chambers of your heart, amongst your cherished circle, or in communion with the world itself, becomes a portal to mutual flourishing. True equilibrium is discovered through the art of reciprocity, a harmonious dance with the seasons, and the alchemical transformation of the energies inherent to our current landscape. This dialogue technique becomes a means to cultivate a profound state of receptivity, reciprocity, and inner enlightenment.

"Through reciprocity the gift is replenished. All of our flourishing is mutual." - Robin Wall Kimmerer

The essence of reciprocity, beautifully articulated by Robin Wall Kimmerer, underscores the interconnectedness of all life. It's a reminder that our flourishing is intertwined with the world around us.

Mabon is a special time of the year, a moment of equilibrium when daylight and darkness are in perfect balance. This season provides us with a unique opportunity to recalibrate our lives, to realign with the natural rhythms of the world. It's a chance to find balance within ourselves and in our relationships with others.

The core of meaningful dialogue, as we contemplate this season, is found in an attitude of openness and mindful perception, devoid of judgement. This state of receptivity allows us to truly hear and understand, to transcend our own assumptions, and to create a foundation for deep reciprocity.

Presencing, the art of being fully in the present moment, offers a gateway to the future. By shedding distractions and embracing the now, we can tap into our inner wisdom and see the emerging possibilities. It's the juncture where our current selves meet our future selves, a place where hidden potential is revealed.

Voicing our authentic truth is a vital aspect of collective intelligence. To maintain balance, we must overcome internal self-censorship and trust in the source of our creativity. Like speaking without knowing what words will come, we must trust that our unique voice, born from the depths of our being, will contribute to the greater whole.

As we embrace this season, let us remember the power of listening as an act of love. By approaching life with reverence, embracing reciprocity, and cultivating inner knowing, we honor the beauty of the world and enrich our own lives.

May this Mabon season be a time of reflection, balance, and profound connection - with ourselves and the world around us.
