Ever sense days of old keeping a sacred flame lit has been a basic necessity for sustaining life; Join Shaun Laveau as they guides you through the mysteries of the Flame and the traditional Hoodoo candle burning. In this workshop we will talk about intentional candle burning and the correspondences and purposes that go along with this form of ritual work. You will also learn about burning figure candles and glass encased candles and how to fix and dress them.

Prosperity Candle Vigil

Are you having troubles with money? Can't hold on to it? Need more of it? Sometimes having trouble manifesting a physical need is on the effect of a spiritual block. Hoodoo, rootworker and psychic Shaun Laveau would like to invite you to participate in their prosperity candle vigil. In this candle ceremony Shaun will fix and dress each candle with petition of prosperity, abundance, and finical stability. Then they will be lit in a ceremony welcoming Leo Season on July 28th.

Part 2 of our Pride post 🏳️‍🌈 The purpose of us telling this story is to honor the fact that Black, African American, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian individuals in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community have often been, and to this day are, catalysts of change in the community. These same individuals are often also leaders in their spiritual communities. Here at Magic Fairy Candles we are blessed to have one of these incredible individuals on our team. Shaun Laveau is a part of the front of house team at Magic Fairy and can be seen directing customers to the items they need to connect to their spiritual selves or offering insight through tarot readings. When asked how their identity as a Black queer individual intersects with their spiritual practice Shaun had this to say:
I believe that honoring my ancestor is really that back-bone of my practice. Everyday I wake up and thank my ancestor that fought for me to live as freely as I can both Black and Queer. I also understand that Spirituality is a place where all people have sacred power. We stand at the crossroads of manifestation at all times and through that space we have that power that we need to create whatever change we want.
Shaun will be holding tarot readings during Longmont Pride this weekend! Stop in if you are celebrating downtown.

Hello beautiful humans,
Today’s post will be a little different than our posts usually are. At Magic Fairy Candles our team works hard to create a space that is inviting and inclusive, and while we are humbled to offer that space we also want to recognize the hard work that has happened to create these inviting and inclusive spaces. For those of you who are not familiar with the history of pride, the first pride was a riot @thestonewallinn in 1969. Similar to many nights, the establishment that acted as a safe haven for New York City residents in the 2SLGBTQIA+ (2 spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, intersex, agender, asexual +) community was raided by the police because it was deemed a crime to be a member of this community. On this night the 2SLGBTQIA+ community decided they were not going to allow this mistreatment to continue. While it is unclear who threw the first infamous brick at the police at Stonewall Inn it is indisputable that Marsha P. Johnson (a black trans woman), Sylvia Rivera (a Puerta Rican trans woman) and Stormé DeLarverie (a biracial lesbian woman) were all instrumental in the actions taken on that night.
